Prompt Like A Pro is a free tool with no accounts and no signup. This page explains what data it touches, why, and who else sees it. Short version: your prompts aren't stored on our servers, and we don't sell anything about you.

What you type into the prompt generator

Your task description and your answers to the follow-up questions are sent to our AI provider to write your questions and your prompt. That provider is currently Google (Gemini API). If it's unavailable, a backup AI provider may handle the request instead. We don't save what you type or the prompts we generate on our servers, and we don't use them to train anything.

Don't enter passwords, financial details or other sensitive personal information into the generator.

What stays in your browser

Some things are kept in your own browser's local storage, on your device only. We can't see them:

  • your progress in the generator, so a refresh doesn't lose your work;
  • prompts you choose to save;
  • if you bought unlimited saving, the email address you paid with, so the site can confirm your purchase;
  • small settings, like when we last showed you a tip or upgrade message.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.

IP addresses

Every website receives your IP address when you visit. We use it to stop abuse: the generator, the newsletter form and the like buttons each limit how many requests one IP address can make. When you like a library prompt or a guide, we don't store your IP address. We store a scrambled code made from it, which can't be turned back into the address, so the same person can't like the same one twice. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also keeps standard server logs.

Analytics and advertising

  • Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure page speed without cookies.
  • Our own counters count steps like "prompt generated" or "prompt copied" as daily totals. They don't identify you.
  • Google Analytics shows us which pages people visit, where they came from, and how long they stay. Google may set cookies to do this. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
  • Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays and heatmaps so we can see where the site confuses people. Clarity masks what you type into forms and may set cookies. Read Microsoft's privacy statement.
  • Google Ads: we advertise on Google, and the Google tag on this site measures whether those ads lead to visits and clicks on the tip link. Google may set cookies to do this. You can manage Google's ad personalization at My Ad Center and read how Google uses this data.

Payments and tips

The one-time unlimited-saving purchase is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email and payment details; we never see your card number. We check with Stripe whether an email has paid, and that's all we use it for.

Tips go through Buy Me a Coffee, on their own site, under their own privacy policy.

Newsletter

If you sign up, your email address is stored with our newsletter provider, Buttondown, and used only to send the newsletter. Some emails are delivered through our email provider,Resend, which receives your address only to deliver that email. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other websites. Some of those links may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. We'll always label them. Other sites have their own privacy policies.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your data.
  • We don't have user accounts or profiles.
  • We don't store your prompts on our servers.

Your choices and questions

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it (for example, your newsletter subscription or your likes), by emailing hello@promptlikea.pro. If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

More ways to reach us are on the contact page.
